Kaalimala, located at an altitude of 3,000 feet, shares its mountain with Kurishumala but lies towards the eastern side. Situated near Amboori village, about 40 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the mountain is home to a Durga temple at its peak. A 6 km narrow path leads to the temple, with 2 km being off-road. Kaalimala is also known for the sacred Kaali Theertham, a water source that never dries up, revered as highly as the Ganges. Nearby, it is believed that Sage Agasthya performed his holy Thapas, adding to the spiritual significance of the location for devotees and pilgrims.
